Frank Sinatra called this track “the greatest love song of the past 50 years” . "Something’ was the first song that George was able to release with The Beatles as a single, and it reached number one in the charts around the world.
Also from the 11th Beatles album, 1969's Abbey Road, this is a relative lightweight from "serious George", but joyous, memorable and a perennial favourite that has stood the test of time.
From the patchy and piecemeal 1968 (only double) album by the Beatles, this has become a classic. Ironically, the Eric Clapton solo is still constantly referred to as proof of George's guitar prowess by those who do not know better!
